EFFECTIVE MARKING

 

Here at Hereward we use a great system called 'Effective Marking' to check how well children have completed work. It assesses how well they have done in relation to the learning objective for each lesson and endeavours to give them ideas for next steps in their learning. Our effective marking approach also includes opportunities for the children to use self-assessment and peer-assessment techniques to evaluate strengths and to identify areas for improvement. The system uses many different types of marking stickers to enable key messages to be given to children in a clear and instantly recognisable way.
