Through Design and Technology, children at Hereward will become creative problem solvers. The skills they acquire will allow them to work confidently as individuals and as part of a team. We will offer an ‘inspiring, rigorous, purposeful and practical’ curriculum. The children will have the opportunity to use their imagination and creativity to design and evaluate their own products, as well as reflect on past and present design, structures and nutrition. They will gain the knowledge of a healthy diet and learn the practical skills to cook a variety of meals. Through cross-curricular opportunities, children will deepen their understanding of Mathematics, Science, Computing and Art, which will scaffold and broaden their life experiences. Whilst studying a selection of food, structure, textiles, electronics and mechanics children will be encouraged to take risks, whilst learning through hands-on approach.
