This month, pupils in Years 2-6 participated in a Maths Week England competition, which was hosted by Times Tables Rock Stars. Lasting six days, the competition required pupils to answer as many times tables questions as possible; they earned one point for the school for every multiplication or inverse division fact answered correctly.
Results were made available as soon as the competition ended and deservedly, Hereward Primary School was the third highest scoring school in the entire competition, after answering over 850 000 questions correctly. Maths Co-ordinator, Miss Knezic, said, “This result is a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of both our pupils and staff members. We could not be more proud of all participants. With thousands of schools in the competition, this was a well-deserved and amazing result.”
