For the second year in a row, Year 6 pupils from Hereward Primary School received a special ‘Premier League Primary Stars’ bag, which was once again filled to the brim with poetry books from famous authors. This wonderful reward was sent because pupils entered a poetry writing competition, where they had to write poems based on the theme of diversity. During the writing process, children were encouraged to think of ways to celebrate similarities and differences that bring everyone together.
Winners will be announced in February 2019 and all of our entrants remain hopeful. Year 6 pupil Sophie said: “We had a chance to share our poems before we posted them and they were all amazing. I liked some of the acrostic and free verse poems the best. I can definitely imagine one of our poems winning!”
