On Friday 17th November 4 teams competed in the family Tag-Rugby Competition at Debden Park High School. All the teams worked hard and played to the best of their ability. The ‘A’ team qualified for the semi-finals as winners of their section but were unfortunately beaten by a very strong St Johns Buckhurst Hill Team. In the 3rd/4th play-off they lost to another St Johns Buckhurst Hill team. The ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ teams had mixed results winning and losing games.
On Friday 1st December 2 teams went to the West Essex Sports Partnership Finals at the Metropolitan Police Ground. The ‘B’ team played in the ‘Bowl’ competition and did very well only losing 1 game in their section. They won their play-off finishing a creditable 5th out of 17 teams. Having qualified for the ‘Plate’ Competition following our family Tag-Rugby Competitions, the ‘A’ Team set about beating all the opposition. They finished unbeaten in their section. They then went on to beat Theydon Bois Primary in their semi-final. The final was a very close competition against Buckhurst Hill Primary School, with the teams level at full-time. ‘Golden Try’ saw Max go on an amazing run scoring the winning try for the team. Hereward were Plate Champions!!!
Congratulations to all the players who showed such determination and great sportsmanship during the whole competition.
