Children at Hereward Primary School, Loughton, took part in a 'Magic Moments Morning' which focused on the challenge of teaching children how to be effective learners.
Different concepts such as resilience, perseverance and critical thinking were explored and the children expressed themselves through the form of art and in other creative ways.
Year 6 pupil Obed Watson said: "I loved the morning, especially how we got to paint scenes using a brush in our mouth."
Mrs Tersia de Jongh, who co-ordinated the day, said: "It was a fun and entertaining morning. It was great to give the opportunity for the children to share ideas and work together in such co-operative ways."
